Incident Narrative
A machine operator was moving a 4,200-pound steel plate into position onto an oxy burning table, about 2.5 feet above the floor. The employee was on the table, moving the plate into position using an overhead crane and a bar walker magnet, when the plate got hung up. It then popped up, shifted, and struck the employee in the leg. He fell off the table and suffered a compound fracture to the left leg.
