Incident Narrative

An employee was preparing to install a wiring harness to the base of an outside air conditioning unit that was being manufactured. The base of the unit contained the compressor and two sets of wires. One set of wires had fallen below and was caught in a section of rotating chain and sprocket on the conveyor. The employee attempted to remove the wires and both of her hands were caught between the chain and sprocket. Both middle fingertips were amputated.
