Incident Narrative
An employee was handling and cutting a 44 lb. aluminum cast on a vertical saw work station. The cast became snagged on the saw as the employee attempted to cut the cast. The employee attempted to pull the cast loose from the saw and the saw blade forced the cast downward. The cast fell on the employee's right fifth finger/little finger, crushing it and resulting in a medical amputation of the fifth digit fingertip.
