Incident Narrative
An employee was walking by a transfer conveyor located at about knee level that moves dimensional lumber into a sorting and stacking machine when he noticed that a board was stuck on the conveyor. As he attempted to unjam it, a running chain and sprocket power transmission apparatus caught his right middle finger, resulting in an amputation at the middle knuckle. The conveyor was guarded at the time of the incident.
