An employee was showing a coworker the adjustment needed on one of the blade heads on a planer machine. The blade head lacerated the employee's right thumb, index, ring, and little fingers and partially amputated the thumb and index finger. The employee was hospitalized. The blade head was unguarded at the time of the incident.
