Incident Narrative
On October 1, 2018, at approximately 2:15 a.m., during removal of asbestos containing 1/4-inch transite panels, an employee walked along the nailing strips where the panels were secured by nails to the structure. As the employee walked from the top row of panels towards the ladder access point, a transite panel broke and the employee fell 20.6 feet to the concrete surface below the roof. The employee was admitted to the hospital and treated for fractures to three vertebra and the pelvis.
