Incident Narrative
On September 28, 2018, at 8:00 a.m. two employees were working together to install an exhaust pipe on the rear engine compartment of airport-sized snow removal equipment. The injured employee was working from an attached catwalk on the snow removal equipment to install the exhaust pipe while the other employee was on the roof of the equipment to hold the top of the pipe and secure a bolt. While installing the exhaust pipe, the injured employee stepped back and fell approximately 59 inches landing on the concrete floor below. He was hospitalized for a severe concussion, broken vertebrae in the neck and a shoulder injury.
