An employee was in an aerial lift parked in a ladle transfer lane, diagnosing a mechanical issue with an empty iron ladle that would not move up and down. Another empty ladle struck him, briefly trapping him inside the lift basket. The heat coming from the ladle's heat shield burned his chest and forearms. He was hospitalized.
