Incident Narrative
An employee was leaving the break room and pushed open the right-side door. Instead of exiting through the door, he turned back into the break room to throw away thrash in a trash can located immediately to the right side of the exit door. As he leaned towards the trash can, he placed his left hand on the door frame with his little finger between the door and the door jamb. When the door closed, it pinched his left little finger, resulting in a fingertip amputation (without bone loss).
