An employee was teaching a new employee how to operate a guillotine when the alignment of a product roll inside the guillotine needed to be fixed. The employee was attempting to grab the roll when the controls were activated. The guillotine then came down on the employee s left hand, amputating the pinky, ring, middle, and index fingers. The guillotine was guarded at the time of the incident.
