An employee was grabbing an end piece from the billet box on a shear cutter when the shear cut another piece (an approximately 70-pound billet), which rolled and struck his left hand. His index and ring fingers broke, and the three middle fingers required stitches on the palm side. He was hospitalized and had surgery.
