An employee was working on a winder. He and his crew were threading up the winder when the head of paper that was being threaded jammed in the winder. As he attempted to remove the jammed paper, his left hand was caught in the paper cutoff vane. He suffered deep lacerations on the lower left arm, wrist, and hand, which resulted in an amputation.
