Incident Narrative
An employee was mixing chemicals such as alcohol, vitamin E, and aloe in a 500-gallon steel tank to make suntan lotion. As he was adding the aloe, the ingredients briefly flash fired. The employee was wearing a polypropylene suit with latex gloves at the time. The sleeves of the suit melted to his skin, causing second degree burns to his right forearm and wrist and minor burns to his left fingertips. He was hospitalized.
