An employee was on a scaffold connecting ductile iron pipe in a water treatment plant. The employee had to remove a side rail from the scaffold to gain access to the pipe. The employee lost his balance and fell approximately 15 feet onto pipes that were below. The employee sustained injury to their L1, L2, and L3 discs, which had to be fused.
