Incident Narrative

An employee was in a freezer cleaning up frozen peas that had ammonia trapped in them due to an earlier valve leak. As he shoveled the peas, the liquid in the peas expanded to vapor and he inhaled ammonia, suffering labored breathing and loss of consciousness. He was hospitalized.
