Incident Narrative
On May 11, 2017, an employee was guiding a generator that was being lowered to the ground by a crane. At approximately 9:45 a.m., the employee used his right hand to hit the headache ball of the crane to unhook it from the generator. The ball dropped suddenly, pinching his right pinky finger between the headache ball and the hook. Half of his finger had to be surgically amputated.
