Incident Narrative

On April 6, 2017, an employee was cleaning the coffee grinder of an espresso machine when a door to the machine's hopper opened. As the employee was attempting to close the door, he made contact with the hopper and the piston came down, amputating his right index finger between the base of his fingernail and the first knuckle joint.
