Incident Narrative
An employee was attempting to move a conveyor back into its original position after moving it to grease a bearing on an adjacent conveyor. The employee grabbed the bottom legs of the conveyor and tried to pull it back into place. As he pulled on the bottom leg of the conveyor, the top end of the conveyor tilted or rocked which allowed his right gloved hand to travel down the conveyor leg and was smashed between the base plate of the conveyor leg and the floor amputating the fingertip.
