Incident Narrative

An employee was using a portable band saw to create quality samples from steel tubing. He held the band saw with his right hand and attempted to catch the sample piece with his left. The saw blade bound up inside the tubing. He was attempting to steady the saw with his left hand when the blade cut and amputated his left index fingertip.
