Incident Narrative

An employee was using compressed air to clean out materials in a saw. The employee's left hand was on the frame of the machine when it cycled and a brass rail caught the employee's thumb and pinched it against the frame. The employee's left thumb tip had to be surgically amputated. The machine was unguarded at the time of the incident.
