Incident Narrative

On April 7, 2016, an employee was using a walk-behind skid steer machine to pick up steel debris in the basement of the mill. While picking up a piece of steel with the bucket, the bucket became stuck due to the weight of the steel. The back end of the skid steer raised up and moved the employee's hand to a flange, where the employee's left ring fingertip was amputated.
