Incident Narrative

An employee was in the process of loading a gang bar onto a paint rack in the shop using an overhead crane rigged with a magnet. The gang bar was placed on the rack out of position. The employee released the lifting device and attempted to reposition the gang bar without the lifting device. In the process of repositioning the gang bar, one end came out of the rack and fell pinching the employee's fingertip between the gang bar and the rack resulting in a right middle fingertip amputation.
