Incident Narrative

A work van and trailer pulled off of the road shoulder to begin working. As workers were removing safety gear and equipment, a northbound vehicle came off the road, beyond the shoulder, and struck the trailer, pushing it into the rear of the van. An employee retrieving equipment at the back of the van was pinned between the trailer and van, suffering a broken right leg and left hand.
