Incident Narrative
Employees were preparing to set steel trusses approximately 66 feet long. The trusses were being moved via forklift from a staging area in the south parking lot approximately 270 feet to the north. The injured employee was trying to stabilize a steel truss attached to a forklift. When the employee removed the strap, the truss, weighing approximately 4000 lbs., tilted and fell onto his leg. The lower leg was amputated.
