An employee was operating a Yale electric stand-up fork truck to move a pallet of veneer from the dryer to the veneer storage room. The fork truck was stationed near a wall. The employee accelerated the fork truck while it was in reverse gear, and he lost his balance. He braced himself by placing his left hand on the outside of the carriage. His hand got caught between the carriage and a wall.
