Incident Narrative
An employee was cleaning a running conveyor system with a compressed air wand when the wand became stuck in the conveyor system at a junction between a section of roller conveyors and a belt conveyor. While trying to free the compressed air wand, the employee's right middle finger either got caught in the conveyor or caught by the compressed air wand, resulting in a partial amputation of the right middle finger. The injury occurred above the right knuckle and involved bone. The employee required surgery to reattach the finger.
