Incident Narrative

An employee was operating a lathe machine to bore a pipe. The employee went to extract metal shavings inside of the pipe when his right hand got caught in a pinch point. He sustained broken bones in his right hand, severed tendons in the right middle and index fingers, and skin removal on the top of his right hand, requiring hospitalization.
