Incident Narrative
An employee turned on a chop saw, but it did not start running. The injured employee came over to inspect the saw. He opened the panel and reached in to grab the belt when the belt moved, pulling his right thumb into the flywheel. Approximately a half inch of the right thumb tip was amputated.
