Incident Narrative
An employee was hand washing an aluminum casting at the "hand wash cabinet" (machine) using 3,700 psi water pressure to remove ceramic materials from the casting. The employee was wearing hand protection (double glove with inner neoprene and outer cut-resistant Kevlar with neoprene coating). The employee suffered a water injection injury to the right middle finger, requiring overnight hospitalization and surgery at Barnes St. Peters.
