Incident Narrative
The injured employee was using an 8-foot step ladder to apply a vinyl window cling decal to the front store window. A second employee was holding the base of the step ladder due to windy conditions. The second employee was unable to prevent the ladder from toppling over as the decal may have acted as a sail. The injured employee fell to the ground and was hospitalized as a result of the following injuries: head trauma when he was knocked unconscious, possible concussion, laceration to left side of his head, fractured right arm, and stiches in the right elbow. He was initially taken to Parkland Health Center in Farmington, Missouri, and then later transported to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
