Incident Narrative

An employee was grinding a long seam of a steel shell using a handheld grinder. Completing work for the day, the employee pulled back on the grinder and dropped it, causing it to kick back and hit his right index finger. The wound was immediately wrapped and the employee was brought to the hospital. The employee had surgery to amputate a portion of his finger.
