Issued by Hiab USA Inc. · Reported Jul 22, 2026 · 996 vehicles affected
What's wrong
Hiab USA Inc. (Hiab) is recalling certain K-HiPro 425 and K-HiPro 505 cranes. Under certain operating conditions, over time the weld between the column pillar and the main plate may fatigue and crack.
Consequence
A cracked weld may result in the collapse of the crane column when in use, increasing the risk of injury to the operator or others nearby.
Remedy
Hiab will inspect crane operating data and replace the columns as necessary, free of charge. For cranes that are inspected but do not require a replacement, Hiab will regularly monitor the column and replace as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 18, 2026. Owners may contact Hiab customer service at (844) 442-2911.
