EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS

Issued by Jerr-Dan Corporation · Reported May 19, 2026 · 35 vehicles affected

What's wrong

Jerr-Dan Corporation (Jerr-Dan) is recalling certain XLP Carrier kits. The reverse and brake light assemblies may have been installed in the wrong location with the incorrect color or number of lights. As such, the carriers fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices and Associated Equipment."

Consequence

Inadequate rear lighting can reduce vehicle visibility or fail to alert other drivers when the vehicle is braking, turning, or reversing, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and repair the carrier, free of charge. Owners may contact Jerr-Dan customer service at 1-800-926-9666.
