POWER TRAIN:SHIFT LINKAGE/CABLE/ROD

Issued by Dorman Products, Inc. · Reported Apr 29, 2026 · 92,791 vehicles affected

What's wrong

Dorman Products, Inc. (Dorman) is recalling certain Dorman Transmission Gearshift Cables, with part numbers 905-146, 905-644, 905-142, and Solutions Transmission Gearshift Cables with part numbers BK905-1146-1, and BK905-1142-1. The gearshift cable bushing may detach from the linkage, which can prevent the vehicle from shifting into gear properly, including "Park" position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 102, “Transmission shift position sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect," and FMVSS number 114, "Theft Protection."

Consequence

The inability to shift into "Park" can result in a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.
