VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER
Issued by Gillig, LLC · Reported Oct 29, 2024 · 611 vehicles affected
What's wrong
Gillig, LLC (Gillig) is recalling certain 2024 Low Floor buses. A defective welded joint may cause the wiper arm to suddenly fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 104, "Windshield Wiping and Washing Systems."
Consequence
Inoperative wipers can reduce the driver's ability to see out of the windshield, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Gillig will replace the wiper motor arm, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 12, 2024. Owners may contact Gillig customer service at 1-800-735-1500.
