STEERING:LINKAGES:TIE ROD ASSEMBLY

Issued by Dana Incorporated · Reported Jun 10, 2024 · 11,089 vehicles affected

What's wrong

Dana Incorporated (Dana) is recalling certain D-Series and E-Series Steer Axles, and replacement tie rod assemblies for Dana D-Series and E-Series Steer Axles. The tie rod assemblies in these steer axles contain ball studs that may have been incorrectly heat-treated, which can cause them to break, and possibly result in tie rod failure.

Consequence

Tie rod failure can cause a loss of vehicle steering control and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dana will inspect and replace the ball studs as necessary, free of charge. Dana will notify original equipment manufacturers and distributors on June 24, 2024. Owners may contact Dana customer service at 1-419-887-3000.
