AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW
Issued by Autoliv, Inc. · Reported May 3, 2024 · 34,974 vehicles affected
What's wrong
Autoliv, Inc. (Autoliv) is recalling certain roof rail air bag inflators with model numbers ACH4.0 (P7.5-30-325) and ACH4.0 (P3.5-30-312). The air bag inflator may fail at the weld joint, which can cause gas to leak from the inflator or result in an inflator rupture.
Consequence
An inflator that ruptures may cause sharp metal fragments to enter or exit the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, an inflator that leaks gas may only partially inflate during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy
Vehicle manufacturers will determine the remedy for the affected vehicles. Owners may contact Autoliv customer service at 1-248-276-0722.
