NHTSA Campaign 23V221000
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM
Issued by Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC · Reported Mar 30, 2023 · 2,881 vehicles affected
What's wrong
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2019-2021 Land Rover Range Rover PHEV and 2019-2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport PHEV vehicles. The water pump pulley drive belt may become damaged or detach, which can allow the engine to overheat. An overheated engine can rupture the engine coolant elbow pipe, leaking coolant onto the turbocharger heat shield.
Consequence
Coolant leaking onto the turbocharger heat shield inside the engine compartment can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the engine coolant elbow and the turbocharger feed coolant pipe, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 19, 2023. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N785.
