TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS

Issued by Ford Motor Company · Reported Jun 24, 2022 · 2,666 vehicles affected

What's wrong

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022 F-150 BEV vehicles equipped with 20" or 22" all season tires. The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) light may not illuminate as intended, failing to warn the driver of low tire pressure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."

Consequence

Low tire pressure can lead to poor vehicle handling and a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

The body control module (BCM) software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 20, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22C15.
