ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL
Issued by Altec Industries Inc. · Reported Aug 25, 2020 · 17 vehicles affected
What's wrong
Altec Industries Inc. is recalling certain 2015-2018 LR7, ALB, AC18, AC23, and AC38 vehicles built on an International N9/N10 chassis. During an HC Desorb cycle, the vehicle's idle will rapidly rise causing an increase in pump flow. The increased pump flow can result in the moving speed of the boom changing.
Consequence
The change in boom speed can result in unintended positioning of the boom, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy
Altec will notify owners, and dealers install an update that will reprogram the low idle preset to 850 RPM, free of charge. The recall began October 16, 2020. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 774.
