BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA
Issued by Halcore Group, Inc. · Reported Apr 9, 2019 · 49 vehicles affected
What's wrong
Halcore Group, Inc. (Halcore) is recalling certain 2016-2019 Horton Type I and Type III ambulances equipped with ASA Electronics back-up camera displays. The displays may revert back to the factory default settings which may cause the camera image to be reversed.
Consequence
The driver may inadvertently turn the wrong direction to avoid an object behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Horton will notify owners and dealers will add a harness relay capacitor module to prevent the image from reversing, free of charge. The recall began June 13, 2019. Owners may contact ASA customer service at 1-800-384-4400 or Halcore at 1-800-447-0343.
