ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM
Issued by Nova Bus · Reported Feb 17, 2018 · 24 vehicles affected
What's wrong
Nova Bus (Nova) is recalling certain 2013 LFS transit buses equipped with transmission oil coolers. In the event of a transmission oil cooler failure, transmission fluid may mix with coolant that circulates through the passenger compartment heating system. Exposure to transmission fluid may degrade the PEX connectors of the heating system, resulting in hot coolant leaking into the passenger area.
Consequence
Leaking coolant could come into contact with passengers, increasing their risk of injury.
Remedy
Nova will notify owners, and dealers will replace the PEX fittings with brass fittings, free of charge. The recall began on March 6, 2018. Owners may contact Nova customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova's number for this recall is CR4226.
