EQUIPMENT:MOTORCYCLE:HELMETS

Issued by Sunright International Of America, Inc. · Reported Sep 11, 2018 · 2,304 vehicles affected

What's wrong

Sunright International of America, Inc. (Sunright) is recalling certain Rodia RHD200 and Rodia RHD200V helmets in all sizes manufactured August 1, 2008-July 31, 2018. When load is applied to the helmet such as in the event of a crash, the chin strap may stretch, allowing the helmet to separate from the rider's head. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 205, "Motorcycle Helmets."

Consequence

If the helmet does not remain secured to the rider's head in the event of a crash, it can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy

Sunright will refund the purchase price. The recall began October 12, 2018. Owners may contact Sunright customer service at 1-770-682-3035.
