What's wrong
Harley-Davidson Motor Company (Harley-Davidson) is recalling certain Detachable Saddlebags, part numbers 90201561, 90201645, 90501552, 90201644, 90201555, and 90201513. The saddlebag latching arm, part number 90200481, may disengage, allowing the saddlebag to separate from the motorcycle while riding.
Consequence
If the saddlebag separates from the motorcycle while riding, it can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Harley-Davidson will notify owners, and dealers will install a kit onto the affected saddlebags that prevents the arm from unlatching inadvertently, free of charge. The recall began on March 9, 2018. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464. Harley-Davidson's number for this recall is 0172.
