Issued by Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company · Reported Aug 8, 2017 · 6,052 vehicles affected

What's wrong

Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company (HSM) is recalling certain CE White Convertible School Bus Seats, QS11 Series. These seats were manufactured with integral D-Ring mounting studs that may have inadequate padding between the occupant and the D-ring mounting stud.

Consequence

In the event of a rear end collision, the seat occupant's head may contact the D-ring mounting stud, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

HSM will notify the bus manufacturers that purchased the seats and dealers for those manufacturers will add the proper padding, free of charge. The recall began on August 17, 2017. Owners may contact HSM customer service at 1-800-438-5341.
