What's wrong
GMAX Helmet LLC (GMAX) is recalling certain GM78 Fullface helmets, size medium, manufactured between March 2012 and April 2014. The affected helmets may not adequately protect a user in the event of a crash. As such, these helmets fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 218, "Motorcycle Helmets."
Consequence
An individuals head may not be fully protected when wearing this helmet, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Remedy
GMAX will notify dealers and customers will be offered to either exchange their helmet for any GMAX helmet or receive a full refund. The recall began on March 11, 2016. Owners may contact GMAX customer service at 1-208-376-8400.
