NHTSA Campaign 12V339000
WHEELS
Issued by NAVISTAR, INC · Reported Jul 19, 2012 · 16 vehicles affected
What's wrong
Navistar is recalling certain model year 2010-2011 International Lonestar vehicles, manufactured from January 29, 2009, through February 21, 2011 and equipped with the Harley Davidson option package with feature codes 27DRV and 28DRV. Over time, due to corrosion and fatigue, the wheels may crack, resulting in possible wheel separation from the vehicle.
Consequence
If this occurs, the driver may lose control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected wheels, free of charge. The safety recall began on September 7, 2012. Owners may contact Navistar at 1-260-461-1890.
