The propane gas cooktop control knobs can be accidentally turned on by brushing your body against them when sliding past the retracted dinette slide-out when walking from the front of the camper to the bathroom, thereby creating the possibility of an explosion and fire.

The contact owns a 2024 Winnebago Micro Mini. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V285000 (Equipment). The contact was concerned that the recall remedy was inadequate due to the cooktop control light no longer illuminating. The contact stated that the knobs were easily accidentally activated and without the light illuminated someone could be severely injured. The dealer was contacted, and the recall was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The VIN was not provided.
LED lights on “Suburban” brand cooktop knobs have been spontaneously all lit up red for the past couple of days, despite not having touched or used the cooktop. I’ve had the trailer for 10 days, it is brand new, 2024 Winnebago Micro Minnie 1720FB model. I went in the trailer after heavy rains to check for leaks and found that all 3 burner knobs were lit up red. And there is no longer any power in the rig either. Still, despite the apparently dead batteries, the lights are still on and I have no way of turning the LED lights off. I am informing you of this because the recall concerning faulty circuit boards relating to recall of “LED light failure which can pose an overheating and fire risk” only lists 2022 and 2023 units, but mine is a 2024. I think the recall should cover the 24s as well. What is the remedy to get the lights off so that there is no fire risk?
