Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2023-2025 VNR Electric trucks. The high voltage battery may contain loose hardware, which can create a short circuit inside the battery cells.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the batteries, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 24, 2025. Owner letters will be mailed on or before August 25, 2025, for the additional vehicles added on July 22, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2019-2023 VNR Electric vehicles. The power cables that connect to the windscreen heater relay may have a loose connection and cause the relay to fail.

Remedy: Dealers will update the software for the Hybrid Powertrain Control Unit and Instrument Cluster, and install replacement relays, free of charge. Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2022-2023 VNRE vehicles. The coolant line in the high voltage battery pack may not be fully seated and locked, which can result in the loss of coolant and an electrical short circuit.
Remedy: Volvo will inspect the battery packs, and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The affected vehicles are within the manufacturer's control and therefore no owner letters will be mailed. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 1-800-528-6586.
