DEALER STATED THAT MOTORCYCLE WAS EITHER BEING SHIFTED TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW. MECHANIC AT DEALER HAD TO BREAK MOTORCYCLE DOWN TO DIAGNOSIS THE CAUSE. FOUND THAT BEARING WENT, CAUSING THE BUSHING AND TRANSMISSION TO BLOW. *AK
I WAS HEADING WEST ON INTERSTATE 80 COMING IN TO AUBURN, CALIFORNIA, BETWEEN 65 AND 70 MPH IN 6TH GEAR AND COMING INTO A LIGHT TURN WHEN THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE AND WITHIN A SECOND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION AND/OR GEARBOX FROZE LOCKING MY REAR TIRE. THE BIKE SLID SIDEWAYS ALL THE WAY AROUND THE TURN, I PUMPED THE CLUTCH 13 TIMES BEFORE THE REAR WHEEL DISENGAGED ENDING THE SLIDE. I DON'T KNOW HOW I STAYED ON THE BIKE AND SHOULD MOST LIKELY BE DEAD OR SEVERELY INJURED.
